After an almost everlasting planeride, we have finally returned back home in Tromsø. I have even found the time to spend one day in one of my Norwegian kindergartens.. It was so strange to have to reset youself when it comes to the language and generally socialize with the children. There where many times that I found myself almost replying in English or struggeling to find the words! The last week in Cape Town was incredibly hectic, I wanted to experience as much as I could so the blog was rather postponed the last days.. Not to mention lack of time, internet and simply just a lack of words.. I still have some posts left, that will be out as soon as I can find the time, and everyone that wants to is of course welcome to follow me on the last part of my journey:) As soon as I can I will also start blogging on my usual blog, for those of you who wish to follow me there:)
When Christina and Åshild took a trip to the bach after k.g., Solveig and I decided that we were going to take the blue City Bus route to The World of birds and monkeys, outside of time. For one daypass we paid about 140 R, but this only goes for a shorter time in the day. Since we were both quite tired after being up early and straight to k.g., we both fell asleep on top of the double decker bus, and woke up somewhere in the winelands.. Fortunately we hadn't passed our stop:) We knew rather little about what to expect there, but at least we knew that we were going to se and hold tiny monkeys! This was something I have always wanted to do, so I was really looking forward to it:)
Legg merke til linselusa..:) Notice who snuck herself in to the photo.. |
All you had to do to get these little fellows to climb up was to reach out your hand..:) |
We quickly got ourselves a little surprise when we realized just how cunning these little ones could be, when one of them jumped up i Solveigs hair and simply just pulled her hairband out and made a run for it!
Damen som jobbet der måttekomme til unnsetning.. The lady who work there had to come to rescue.. |
Men han kom unna med det likevel.. But he got away with it anyways.. |
I also got myself a little friend that was absolutely obsessed with my magical plaster! It was really like a little child that wouldn't take no for an answer.. I'll post a film of this as soon as I get it from Solveig:)<3
Since the rest of the World of birds and monkeys didn't close untill 17.00, we moved on to take a look at the aprox 100 exhibitions they had. In many of the exhibitions it was possible to go in to the animals..at your own risk of course..

I love going on fieldtrips like this and see "new" and exotic species that you wouldn't normally find elsewhere. Even though some of the animals where fenced in, the different exhibitions where nicely adapted to the different species. Alot of the animals there where animals that had been rescued from various difficult situations. But still there were some species that simply gave you chills down your back..
All in all this was an awesome tour, even though we only had a short time there. Even the little monkeys alone was worth the trip. And it feelt really good to take the Citybus tour back to town, and experience the areas one last time before we left, even though the thoughts of going home was far away..
