Noe av det første jeg gjorde etter at jeg kom hjem var å melde meg inn som SOS fadder for et barn i Afrika, så nå går jeg bare å tripper å venter på at velkomstpakken skal komme i posten og at jeg får mitt første "møte" med barnet som er velgt ut til meg:) Etter å ha møtt mine fantastiske SOS barn i Sør Afrika, føltes det kun riktig å kunne være der for flere.

One of the first things I did after I got back home was to sign up as a SOS sponsor for a child in Africa. Right now I'm just tiptoeing arount waiting for the welcome package to arrive in my mailbox, so that i can finally have my first "meeting" with the child that was choosen for me:) After meeting my wonderful SOS children in South Africa, being able to be there for more children felt like the only right thing to do.

Hvorfor bli SOS fadder? Why you should sign up to be a SOS sponsor?

Tusenvis av barn er helt alene. De mangler alt som trengs for å bygge en fremtid. Deres hverdag handler kun om å overleve. Mange av dem gjør det ikke. Fadderne er selve fundamentet for SOS-barnebyers arbeid. Ingen kan redde verden alene, men sammen skaper vi trygge hjem, reduserer fattigdom og bedrer forholdene til barn over hele verden. Ved å bli SOS-fadder kan du endre livet til et barn. Da gir du et barn en trygg familie, en barndom med gode minner, skolegang og muligheten til en fremtid. Ditt fadderbidrag bidrar også til at mange vanskeligstilte familier i nærmiljøet får støtte slik ta de kan gi barna sine god omsorg. Barna får også skolegang og helsetilbud.


Thousands of children are completely alone. They lack everything needed to build a future. Their life is all about survival. Many of them do not. The sponsors are the foundation for SOS Children's Villages work. No one can save the world alone, but together we create safe homes, reduce poverty and improve the conditions of children around the world. Your sponsorship contribution also helps that many disadvantaged families in the community is supported to help them to give their children proper care. Det finnes ulike typer fadderskap, du kan velge om du ønsker å være fadder for et enkeltbarn eller en SOS barneby. Jeg valgte å være sponsor for et enkeltbarn slik at man kan følge barnet gjennom barnets oppvekst.

 Det finnes et sårbart barn i verden som vil bli direkte berørt av at du velger å bli SOS-fadder. Som SOS-fadder gir du barnet et trygt hjem og en familie med søsken og en omsorgsfull mor. Barnet får et godt helsetilbud og en utdanning som gjør det mulig å skape seg en fremtid.
Barn og familier i lokalsamfunnet får også støtte til å skape et godt liv og en sikker framtid. Du kan følge fadderbarnet ditt gjennom hele oppveksten, og blir på den måten en del av familien du også.

 There are various types of sponsorship, you can choose whether you want to be a sponsor for a single child or a SOS Children's Village. I chose to sponsor an individual child so that you can follow the child through the child's upbringing. 


There are a vulnerable child in the world who will be directly affected by the fact that you choose to become SOS sponsor. As a SOS sponsor you can provide your child a safe home and a family with siblings and a caring mother. The child gets a good health service and education that makes it possible to create a future. Children and families in the community also get support for creating a good life and a secure future. You can follow your child throughout their childhood, and are thus part of the family too.
